Mercedes Ruiz is a certified HypnoBirthing® Childbirth Educator, Master Trainer and Faculty Member of the HypnoBirthing® Institute. Mercedes also holds a BSc in Psychology, an MA in Gestalt Therapy, is a certified Counsellor and Hypnotherapist, DBL Baby Language Educator and Certified Birth and Postpartum Doula. Mercedes specializes in Perinatal Mental Health.
Mercedes’ impressive list of credentials is joined with passion and experience, assisting the growth of families for over 6 years in Mexico and Canada. Her journey of helping parents through the childbirth process began with her own HypnoBirthing® experience. After that, friends and family naturally gravitated to Mercedes for advice surrounding the birth process and she welcomed the opportunity to help where she could.
After having a calm and comfortable Hynobirthing® experience, Mercedes’ felt strongly about helping other families have gentle natural births like hers. Without hesitation, she embarked on her HypnoBirthing® certification journey. She was trained by the creator of HypnoBirthing® and the founder of the HypnoBirthing® Institute, Marie Mongan.
Mercedes continually educates herself and other birth professionals in multiple techniques to provide all of the services and support growing families need. She has been offering trainings and supporting families in Latin America, Spain and Canada since 2014.
Bilingual in Spanish and English, Mercedes was born in the United States, raised in Mexico and is now raising her daughters in Canada. She loves to walk and ride her bicycle, play with her daughter and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the East Coast of Canada with her family.
In addition to her work as a birth professional, Mercedes is also an advocate for domestic and sexual abuse survivors and a therapist certified in multiple healing modalities.
