I’m planning a natural birth with minimal interventions at a hospital. I wanted to learn the anatomy and physiology of birth, increase my confidence, applicable techniques to help me manage the sensations or birthing, practical steps I could take to prepare for the birthing experience, enough information about the whole experiences to be able to decide on preferences so I can communicate those preferences to my medical team. I found Celia through a free webinar she hosted on Hypnobirthing. I asked her for some more information about the class to better understand if It would serve my needs and she happily sent me a more detailed agenda. I felt really comfortable with her and ultimately decided to sign up for her 5 week series class. Celia has a very down to earth and comfortable energy. Her class was really enjoyable. 3 hours went by quickly (per class). There was a good mix of slides, videos, practice, discussion, Q&A. I found everything very interesting and engaging. We had plenty of time for open discussion. And although the class was virtual ( COVID precaution), I didn’t feel we were missing anything. Celia’s class covered all my goals and more. She also took time to send us follow up materials from class; links to further our learning on certain topics and techniques to practice. I didn’t feel there was a need to do ‘homework’ to get more from the class but – materials were things we were requesting and wanted to learn more about. Now, weeks after class I’m still referencing those links and emails and she has made herself available should me or my partner have any questions. She’s awesome! Take her class. You feel like you are hanging out with a really well informed friend :). If I were to hire a doula I would also want Celia by my side.
